Truly Gentle!

In my book CHICKIE JURIN'S ZAMBOOZIE STEW, I compare the character Steven to a Buff Orpington hen because I'd read that the breed is known for being nice and gentle, just like Steven. Last week I got to meet my first flock of Buff Orpingtons on my daughter's little farm. I am pleased to report that Buff Orpingtons ARE truly gentle birds. The fluffy little hens hopped up on the bench next to me and sat on my lap. They even let me pick them up and carry them around. They love to hide their eggs though. My daughter found thirteen under her porch after I left.
